A Note of Thanks

Hi to all …  I am pleased to see a lot of positive things going on at our web site, from  people /members putting up projects that  they would like to get involved in.  It would be nice to see more things like this happen within the club. As the Chairman of SARC,with the rest of  the  Committee,we are here to help “You the  members”to move the Club in the Direction you would like to see the Club go.  If it were not for you ( the Members ) then there would be no Club.  I can see this being a good move forward . . . →Read More:A Note of Thanks

S.O.T.A. and Lighthouse Activations

Tim 2E0TJX and a few other club members are seeking to have a go at doing  some S.O.T.A. (Summits on the Air) and lighthouse activations in the future, and we are seeking for more members to get  involved.

Celebrating European Castles Day @ Boston Castle,Rotherham

Keith (G0CXP) is organising an event to take place during “The European Castles Day”on Sunday 15 May 2011. The local event on behalf of SARC will  be held at Boston Castle Park,Boston Castle Grove in Rotherham. Try not to confuse this event with CASHOTA [Castles &Stately Homes on the Air] or COTA (Castles on the Air) as they are not the same event.

This will be an excellent opportunity to ‘activate’a castle by making radio contacts around the world from this base, and furthermore,it’s a great way for club members to get together and have some relaxing fun playing radio..!! Wind genny is GO..!!

Thanks to the combined efforts of the folk who came up to the club this morning we were able to get the wind generator erected and running before 3pm this afternoon. It’s now connected to the battery bank, along with the solar panel,so my guess is that we should be able to get through the winter quite nicely.

I’d like to thank the following members  who came along:  Krystyna,Ken,Keith,Dave EQD,Andy GAV,Andrew HSA,Carol and Peter,

We are not sure just how much gear we will be able to run off this system but it’s still not up to running an electric kettle . . . →Read More:Wind genny is GO..!!
