This website is owned by Sheffield Amateur Radio Club,and is aimed at anyone who has in interest in Amateur Radio. You do not have to be a paid up member to enjoy being a part of this network,but we would expect you to sign up as a member if you regularly attend our talks and other events.
Q.Do I have to become a member?
No. This is a public site which is open to everyone who wishes to join the SARC Network on this website. However,if you decide you wish to become involved with us in our events on the calendar,then after your first three visits to the club,we would be encouraging you to join the club as a fully paid up member.
Q. Is there a joining fee?
There is no fee to become a member of SARC’s website network. However this site is run and paid for by SARC from membership fees from our fully paid up members.
Q. Can I sell things on the SARC Network website?
Yes. We have provided “Junk Sale”area in the forums specifically for this.
Q. What are the rules for posting News and Forum Items?
To keep this website and forums clean,usable and helpful to others a set of rules have been put together and we expect all Network Members to comply with them. You will find these below.
Q. Does the Club have a constitution?
Yes. You can view the Sheffield Amateur Radio Club Constitution in PDF format. This constitution was ratified at an EGM on 20 February 2009.

- This News Website and the Forums exist in order that members may discuss issues relating to Amateur Radio.
- We will not tolerate posts which are vulgar,defamatory,inaccurate, harassing,hateful,threatening,invading of others privacy,sexually oriented,or violate any laws.
- You may not post pornographic,offensive,sexually explicit,or objectionable material,which includes but is not limited to suggestive images,graphics,comments and links.
- You must not post any message of a political or religious nature as you will likely offend someone.
- We do not allow advertising on the Forum,except in the designated area.
- Message content:you remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.
- We do not allow flaming. Flaming is defined as “an insulting criticism or remark meant to incite anger,or be hurtful,posted on the board”.
- We do not warrant the usefulness,accuracy or completeness of any post.
- Messages posted on this Forum express the views of the author only and are not necessarily the views of other members or of the owners of the Forum. If you feel that a posted message is objectionable,please contact us immediately by email. We will make every effort to remove objectionable material within a reasonable timescale if we feel that removal is necessary.
- No trolling. Don’t make posts that are inflammatory just to annoy people.
- No Spamming. No commercial posts or flooding the forum with useless content please.
Posting Guidelines
- Please post News with the right Categories,a suitable headline,spell check and so on. Remember,readers will be looking on the content of your news post.
- Please post in the right forum. It will help everyone to find messages which are relevant to the Forum topic. The moderators will move any topic considered to have been posted in the incorrect place.
- Please ensure that the subject is meaningful. This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted.
- Please do not post in CAPITAL LETTERS. This equates to shouting in netiquette,and text in capital letters is also more difficult to read.
- Research your Post! Make sure you are not double posting;please search the forum first as most questions have been answered dozens of time before.
- Respect the privacy of others. Please do not post other people’s personal details without their permission.
- Please treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. Criticise ideas and not people. We do not permit personal attacks and any member resorting to personal attacks will be suspended or removed.
If you are found breaking any of the website or forum rules you may have your account role changed,be suspended or removed or your message deleted.
