Getting Involved

We’re a bunch of people who enjoy an interesting and relaxing hobby. We get a lot out of getting together to share a common interest and have some fun.

At the club,we’re involved in several activities and meetings each week,month and year,from the general club night,social events,field days and more. It is worth keeping an eye out on our events calendar to keep yourself up to date of the things we have been planning to get involved with.

  • Monday –Club Nights from 7.00pm to 10:00pm
  • Training - every Monday Club Night from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
  • Use the GB3US repeater to make other flexible arrangements to network with other local radio enthusists

Club activities and events take place at the Sheffield Transport Sports Club. the address and directions to the transport club are found below;

The Sheffield Transport Sports Club is located 100 metres from Meadowhead roundabout and is an ideal location for radio at 691ft ASL. The Club has excellent disabled access and several rooms that are available for training and radio operating.

Off-street parking is available and the Club can be reached by public transport –the First nos. 53,75 or 76 buses and the Yorkshire Terrier No. 72 bus all stop near to the Sports Club.

Membership Details

Visitors are made very welcome at the Club Once you have attended three meetings you will be invited to join us as a member. There is a £1 charge for attending weekly meetings,to help with room hire costs and there is an annual fee for membership. The charge is £2 for non-members.

Annual fees for membership are currently charged at the following rates:

£35 per year regardless of personal status.
(special payment arrangements are available for unwaged and/or retired)
Those in full-time education are not charged for membership.

Membership fees are used to pay the club HQ  rent,purchase club equipment,to cover insurance and to pay fees to external bodies.
