Field Days
SARC enters VHF and SSB Field days every year, using mainly our contest call G2AS/P but also G3RCM/P where a second field day station is organised. In addition SARC enters the RSGB 80m Cub Contest every month from January to July inclusive. For several years SARC entered the IOTA Contest under the callsign MM3M from the Isle of Arran. The club has several keen DXers and successful contesters among its members but many more are needed, especially CW operators!

Latest Keps
Find in the folder the 2 lined keps for the satellites that is operational, when you download the keps normally there is a lot of satellites that have been out of operation for a long time but they or not removed from the list, and you have to tick the appropriate ones that you know or active, with in such as Orbitron.so I have made a cut down keps list.you just select all and delete your list of sats in the respective folder TLE within Orbitron folders, were they or and replace by pasting the list from here.the list or the active satellites that we as hams will be interested in.email me and I will send you the simple text file needed, please state which software program you or using example,Orbitron, etc.I cannot download them onto the site as it does not keep the original text in its original form.trevorwood6@yahoo.co.ukTrevor M0TWS

Satellite News
Detailed DescriptionARISSat-1 is a microsat developed as a follow-on to the SuitSat-1 project. The satellite was launched to the ISS on January 28th,2011,with deployment on EVA 29 at 1843,August 3,2011.The satellite will downlink live SSTV images from four onboard cameras, live telemetry and messages on the CW,FM voice, and BPSK downlinks,as well as provide a 16kHz wide transponder for two-way contacts. All the uplinks and downlinks are based on software defined radio systems.Telemetry will include spacecraft subsystem information,as well as data from the Kursk State University experiment. This experiment will sample the change in vacuum as the satellite slowly re-enters the atmosphere. Telemetry software is now available at http://www.arissattlm.org/download/ARISSatTLM_050_Setup.exe ,with a user guide at http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/images/fck_images/ARISSatTLM-QuickStart%281%29.pdf
Foundation Licence Passes:August 2011
On Monday 29 August 2011 SARC Certificates of Achievement were present to almost all of the recent FL passes. Two successful candidates were not able to be at this meeting. SARC Certificates of Achievement are present to all new licencees in celebration of them becoming a transmitting radio amateur. We wish these Foundation licensees all the very best and hope they continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby and to make progress to become FULL licencees one day in the not too distant future.
Awards 2010
18th October 2010 saw SARC's first club Presentation of Awards Evening which,it is hoped, will become an annual event. SARC were honoured to have,as its guest and presenter of awards,Mrs Mary Hart, the wife of the late Robert Hart,G4EJL,a much respected former club chairman. This occasion was the first at which the new G4EJL Memorial plaque was to be presented to the winner of SARC's annual Home Construction competition. The competition is held annually in May and winners of each category receive a small prize and a certificate. The G4EJL plaque was not ready for the May event so it was decided to award it at the October presentation evening.

The equipment used had a Transmit PCB at one site and a Receiver PCB at the other site. monitoring comms was via 2 Mts. The arerials were both home-made.(Steve M1ERS provided me with the 2.4GHz gear - Thanks Steve)If anyone else would like to post their FSTV pictures on this page, please do so.
